Healdsburg has always been a charming place to visit, but for years it lagged behind Napa in culinary accomplishments. However, the dining scene is quickly shifting as more hotels are built and tourists are embracing the less manicured and more diverse offerings of the Sonoma region.
A Spanish vibe permeates this restaurant, where chef Cody Thomason creates excellent paella and small plates such as a tuna belly salad with green olives, egg and shaved celery; and duck meatballs with tomato and green olive puree. It may seem out of place, but the fried chicken with kale salad is a must-order item. The restaurant also specializes in gin and tonic. In warmer weather, the patio is the place to be.
